Enough trips to the mountains...let's go to the big city!

Hello again, darling!
Did you know the capital city of Georgia is sometimes nicknamed the New York of the south? While some might not agree with that, it is indisputable that you will find plenty to do in Atlanta. The city has a rich history, and is considered to have had a pivotal role in the Civil War and the Civil Rights Movement. The city is renowned for its culture, diversity, shopping, and arts. It is the birthplace of MLK and is home to Braves (MLB), Falcons (NFL), and Hawks (NBA). Taking US-411 N and I-75 S, it takes roughly an hour and a half to get there from Rome.
Brunch
After arriving in the peach city, I recommend getting brunch at Atlanta Breakfast Club. This is easily one of the most popular breakfast spots in the city, with the homemade biscuits coming in high demand. If you aren't that hungry yet, I would recommend stopping at Cafe Lucia for coffee. Both of these spots are within walking distance of the massive Georgia Aquarium, and many other popular tourist locations, like the Civil Rights Museum and the World of Coca-Cola. I would definitely check one of these out after breakfast.
What to do
With a city as big as Atlanta, there are so many ways to spend a Saturday. You could go on a tour of some museums, like those listed above. More infamous spots include The Varsity restaurant, the College Football Hall of Fame, and the SkyView. The Atlanta Braves play in Truist Park and most of the time, tickets are relatively cheap if you buy them ahead of time. For a great Saturday, I recommend going to the High Museum of Art on Peachtree St NE and taking your time strolling through the leading art museum of the southeast. The museum is open Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and noon - 5 on Sundays. Some hotels in the area have a bundle with tickets, and group tours as well as individual tours are offered. On Saturdays and Sundays, all tours are free with admission and no reservations are required!
Dinner
After you are much more educated and basically an art critic, you are probably getting hungry. I think that this is the perfect time to hop back in your car and head to the Cumberland Mall. With nearly a hundred stores, the Cumberland Mall is the perfect place to window shop. You could easily waste hours here while waiting on a table to open up at one of the many restaurants in the shopping center. My family and I have a favorite restaurant here that I cannot brag on enough - Stoney River Steakhouse. You need to call ahead and make a reservation or spend your wait time shopping. The last time I went, I ate the grilled salmon with fluffy mashed potatoes and flavorful broccoli. My mom and dad both ate steak, which they said was top notch. I don't eat red meat, but considering how popular the Steakhouse is, I will take their word for it.
Dessert
I think it is only fitting to end your day with something yummy. There are a few places I recommend that are close to Cumberland Mall. There is Tiff's Treats, with big chocolate chip cookies, and the Cereal Lab, where an ice cream/cereal creation is served out of food trucks! If you want the best apple pie in Atlanta, then check out the Pie Bar. You can't go wrong!
Overall
When you go to Atlanta, you do not have to spend your Saturday doing touristy things like the Coca-Cola museum or the aquarium. However, I think that it is fun doing those sort of things. After all, they are popular for a reason! Happy traveling, darling!
